The "long" version of the ManuLoc Rhizo orthosis, the ManuLoc Rhizo Long is a long, rigid wrist brace with thumb fixation. It stabilizes the wrist, thumb, and much of the forearm, thus relieving pain due to inflammation, trauma, and surgery.
The design of the orthosis supports multi-stage therapy: during the course of treatment, the thumb support can initially be loosened and then completely removed as the patient recovers.

In detail:
Severe pain in the wrist and thumb can turn even grasping movements into a veritable torment, making daily life intolerable. The affected joints require complete rest by limiting rotational movement. But not forever: as soon as your doctor approves, it's a good idea to gradually resume muscle training. ManuLoc Rhizo Long is a combination of our ManuLoc Long and RhizoLoc orthoses. Thanks to its long lever, it completely immobilizes the wrist joint and parts of the forearm. Its anatomical aluminum splints can be further adjusted by an orthopedic technician.
The Velcro tab at the thumb allows for gradual mobilization of the basal joint, restoring mobility as quickly as possible. The thumb support can then be completely removed. This allows you to regain full finger movement while maintaining wrist stabilization. The breathable material with integrated perforations allows for optimal skin ventilation, thus preventing sweating and itching. The Velcro closure system makes the orthosis easy to put on and take off using the other hand.

Directions for use:
Post-traumatic or post-operative inflammatory conditions, e.g. after plaster cast treatments in cases of scaphoid fractures
Pre-operative treatments
Radial tendovaginitis (medium grade)
Rhizarthrosis (severe grade)
Sprains/bruises
Carpal tunnel syndrome (moderate)
Injuries to the lateral ligament of the thumb, e.g. skier's thumb

Care and maintenance instructions:
Before washing, fasten the Velcro straps to the designated areas.
Wash the orthosis exclusively by hand at 30°C using a mild detergent. All components can remain attached to the orthosis during washing.
Air dry the product and not in the dryer, to avoid damaging the product itself.
Do not expose the product to direct heat as this may affect its effectiveness.
Regular care ensures optimal effectiveness. Follow the washing instructions on the label sewn onto the top edge of the product.

Further instructions:
The central palm bar with air vents, the side bars and the aluminum bracket can be shaped as desired.
As the therapy progresses, it is possible to gradually dynamize the thumb and completely remove the support.
