Single-post knee brace. Lightweight and slim, it provides a varus/valgus correction to relieve joint pain using the three-point principle.
The padding is anatomical and breathable and the clip closure system avoids having to
adjust the length of the Velcro straps after each use.

CHARACTERISTICS
Valgus/varus angle adjustment: +15°/20°
Flexion Adjustment: 45°-60°-75°-90°
Extension adjustment: 5°-10°-15°-20°-25° - Length 34 cm.

INTENDED USE
Non-invasive therapeutic medical devices designed to correct postural problems or perform limb stabilization.

DIRECTIONS
Mild to severe unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis, both medial and lateral.

APPLICATION
1. Open the closures by lifting the buckles and unhooking them from the frame. Loosen the straps by detaching the end and reattaching it to the end of the strap.
2. While sitting on the edge of the chair, bend your knee slightly and apply the brace to the outside of your leg.
Align the center of the hinge with the top of the kneecap and position it slightly behind the midline of the leg. Important note for the first application: the brace must initially be positioned neutrally (see step 5), that is, so that the straps and hinge are in contact with the leg without applying pressure and without leaving any space between the brace and the leg. The corrective forces at
medial or lateral compartment will be adjusted in step 5.
3. Reattach the strap buckles in the sequence indicated on the ends of the straps, hooking them onto the frame until they click. Make sure the buckle is securely closed. Hold the frame in place while tightening the straps to prevent them from rotating. Tighten strap 1 firmly just above the calf. Strap 1 plays an important role in holding the brace in place. Tighten the strap.
2. Halfway up the calf. Tighten strap 3 around the lower thigh. Tighten strap 4 around the upper thigh.
All straps should be tightened to stabilize the brace properly but still be comfortable.
Don't tighten the thigh straps too much.
4. Once the straps are adjusted, the center of the hinge should be aligned with the top of the kneecap and positioned slightly behind the midline of the leg.
To ensure the brace fits properly during use, walk a short distance.
It's normal for the brace to shift slightly: make any necessary adjustments to the straps to bring it into the correct position. You can then put the brace on and take it off using the clip buckles.
5. Caution: Initial adjustments of the OActive brace should be made by a healthcare professional in accordance with the doctor's prescription indicating the compartment to be discharged.
Subsequent adjustments, although rarely necessary, should be made by a healthcare provider.
6. For the first application: with the brace in the neutral position (from step 4), bend the knee to 90°. Using the adjustment tool provided, tighten the locking screw on the hinge 1/8 of a turn clockwise to increase the relief in the compartment.
lateral or 1/8 turn counterclockwise to increase relief in the medial compartment.
7. Adjustment: Stand and walk a short distance, ensuring proper fit and comfort after the first use and after each adjustment. If the brace is uncomfortable for your knee and leg, move the adjustment screw back slightly. If more relief is needed, continue turning the adjustment screw in 1/8-turn increments. Walk after each adjustment to check its effects as described above.
Over-adjusting can cause discomfort, rotation of the structure, or excessive pressure on the skin: therefore, adjust conservatively.

APPLICATION OF SUSPENSION BANDAGE
If necessary, a suspension bandage can be applied, designed to improve the suspension and positioning of the brace by wrapping a larger surface area and thus applying uniform pressure to the soft tissues of the calf.
1. Attach the Velcro strip (sewn on the edge opposite the one with the finger holes) to the two lower straps, on the inside of the brace.
2. Pull the bandage around the outside of the leg and brace.
3. Continue wrapping around the brace and attach the bandage to itself using the end with the finger holes.
Note: The bandage should be positioned so that the top edge is 1.5 cm above the strap below the knee.

MAINTENANCE
Salt water, sand, dirt, and other elements can cause damage to the device. Rinse the brace repeatedly with cold water if exposed to these conditions. Allow to air dry or dry with a cloth. Remove the pads and hand wash with cold water and mild detergent as needed.
Rinse thoroughly and air dry without heat sources.
Lubricate the zipper with silicone spray if necessary.

MAINTENANCE OF THE SUSPENSION BANDAGE
When necessary, the bandage should be removed and hand washed with cold water and neutral soap, rinsing thoroughly. Do not tumble dry or use other heat sources.
